There is a one-time $25.00 application fee. Students applying at our Higher Education Centers or Branch Campus must pay this fee by check or money order.
Do I need to make an appointment to take the Basic Skills test?
No, the test is given on a walk-in basis in Lincroft; however, students who wish to take the test at one of our Higher Education Centers or Branch Campus must call 732-224-2600 to schedule an appointment.
You must apply to Brookdale before you can be tested. If you have already applied to Brookdale you can bring the acceptance letter or pick up a pass from our office. The student must also bring photo ID with them (their license or Brookdale ID). Please refer to http://brookdalecc.edu/pages/166.asp for current testing hours. My son/daughter is a high school student and wants to take classes at Brookdale, can they?
High School students can take courses through the Fast Start program. The student must be at least a high school sophomore, at least 15 years old, and must get approval from their high school guidance counselor, their parent, and they must meet with a counselor here at Brookdale. Students are required to take the Accuplacer Test and/or submit SAT scores for a waiver.
If the student is a home schooled student they must be at least 15 years of age and have completed the equivalent of freshman year high school. Home schooled students do not require a high school guidance counselor signature. The student must fill out the Fast Start application, pass the Basic Skills Test or have it waived based on SAT scores and have all required signatures on the form as well as their high school transcript when they meet with the counselor here.
