Canvas Learning Management System

Canvas Learning Management System

A Learning Management System is a way for faculty and students to share content and interaction online. All Brookdale online courses use Canvas, and your professor may choose to use Canvas to share course information and enhance course communication if you are meeting face-to-face.  Please note computer requirements and other technical information that will help you to successfully use Canvas.   Here’s a 10-minute video describing how to access and participate in online courses and use Canvas.  And click here for documentation on how to navigate within Canvas and use some of the most commons features.

Please see our document about possible technical issues and ways to access your content.

A live virtual orientation to online learning has been archived for your use.  Here’s a link to the recording.

Canvas supports the last two versions of every browser release. We highly recommend updating to the newest version of whatever browser you are using as well as the most up-to-date Flash plug-in.  Currently (December 2015) Canvas supports:

  • Chrome 47.0.2
  • Safari 8
  • Firefox 42.0 (Extended Releases are not supported)
  • Flash 19 (for recording or viewing audio/video and uploading files)
