What can I apply for?
The ONLY financial aid available for the summer is Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loans. Summer applications are only needed if you are requesting a student loan.
How will I know if I qualify?
• Pell Grant – Your Pell Grant eligibility is based on the number of credits you were previously paid for in the fall and spring terms of 2014-2015. For example, if you have been paid the equivalent of 2 Full Time term awards, then you have NO remaining Pell Grant eligibility for summer. Also, every term that you receive a Pell Grant is applied to your Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) which is the equivalent of 12 full time terms (600%).
• Federal Direct Loans – Your Direct Loan eligibility is determined on whether or not you have borrowed your annual loan limit. For example, if you are a dependent student in your first year and you have borrowed $5500 then you have NO remaining Direct Loan eligibility for summer. Please see chart on the back. If you have remaining loan eligibility you must remain registered for a combination of a minimum of 6 credits for the summer term to be eligible. If you are requesting a loan please complete the Student Loan Request Form on the reverse side.
