Robert J. Collins Arena / Brookdale Recreation & Events Center (BREC)


Where should I park if I am attending an event in the Collins Arena / BREC?
Parking Lots 6 & 7 are available during events.  Handicap parking is also available in Lots 6 & 7.

How can guests purchase tickets for an event?
Guests can purchase tickets for events online, by telephone, or at the box office located in the main lobby of the Collins Arena. The box office telephone number is 732-224-2070.

What are the seating capacities?
The Collins Arena features a seating capacity of 2,000 for multiple events. Stadium seats, bleacher seats, and floor seating are available.  The BREC offers 1,100 seats during events. Floor seating is also available upon request.

How many guests can be accommodated in the hospitality suite?
The hospitality suite provides an exclusive atmosphere during events for 24 guests. The suite includes 12 padded stadium seats and 12 padded high-top chairs that overlook the event floor. Eight leather, lounge chairs are also available for guests.

Are there concession stands available during events?
Yes, concession stands can be found in both the Collins Arena and BREC.

Do the concession stands accept cash or credit?
Concession stands in the Collins Arena and BREC accept both cash and credit.

During events is there access to an ATM?
Yes, however, the closest ATM is located in the Warner Student Life Center.

What food/beverages are offered at the concession stands?
Each stand offers fountain drinks, hot dogs, hot pretzels, personal pizzas, chips, candy, cookies, and other snack favorites.

What food/beverages are offered in the hospitality suite?
The food and beverage options available in the suite are similar to the items that can be found in the concession stand.

Can outside food and beverages be brought into the Collins Arena and/or BREC?
No. The following items are not permitted inside of either facility: Glass Bottles/Cans – Alcoholic Beverages – Coolers/Ice Chests/Thermoses – Open Containers – Outside Food or Beverages.

Are premium seating sections available during events?
Yes, stadium seats and floor seats are available during special events in the Collins Arena. Floor seats can also be available upon request in the BREC.

Are standing room sections available during special events?
Yes, standing room is only available in the Collins Arena around the upper level on the track, above the bleacher seats. Guests are not allowed to block entrance/exit points to the bleachers.

Is there accessible handicap seating?
Yes, handicap seating can be found next to both sides of the hospitality suite, on the upper level, above the stadium seats in the Collins Arena.  Designated locations can also be found in the BREC for handicap seating.

Are there elevators?
Yes, one elevator can be found in both the Collins Arena and BREC.

Are strollers allowed during events?
Guests are allowed to bring strollers into both facilities and should seek the nearest usher to locate the best seating location.

Are there family restrooms?
Yes, one family restroom can be found in both the Collins Arena and BREC.

Are pets allowed?
Unless trained to assist disabled individuals, pets are not permitted inside of the Collins Arena or BREC.

Are both facilities equipped with air conditioning?
Yes, upgrades were made to the HVAC system during the Big Four project that was completed in 2011.

Are both facilities open to the general public during the week?
Only the Collins Arena track is available to the general public Monday – Friday from 9am–5pm. Please note that special events and intercollegiate competitions may take place during these times. When events are in progress, the track is no longer available for general use.

Where can I find the lost and found?
The lost and found is located in the Event Management Office, Room 112.

Is tailgating allowed?
At this time, Brookdale Community College does not allow tailgating before, during, or after events.

Is smoking allowed?
Brookdale Community College promotes and enforces a tobacco-free environment at all campus locations. Use of tobacco products is prohibited, except in private vehicles.

If I am attending an event and need overnight accommodations; where is the closest hotel to the College?
The Courtyard Marriott is located a few miles away from Brookdale.  Take Exit 109 on the Garden State Parkway (GSP).

 

Warner Student Life Center


Where should I park if I am attending an event in the Warner Student Life Center?
Parking Lot 7 is available during events.  Handicap parking is also available in Lot 7.

What if I get hungry during a public event, is there a  place to purchase food?
Yes, the Jersey Blues Dining Room is located on the upper level of the Student Life Center, along with the Paddock Convenience Store/Starbucks and vending machines.

Is there access to an ATM?
Yes, the ATM is located on the upper level next to the Scroll & Pen Bookstore.

Are the facilities handicap accessible?
Yes, there is one elevator and handicap accessible doors to enter and exit the building.

Are bathrooms located on the upper and lower level?
Yes, bathrooms are located on the lower level across from the Student Life & Activities Office, and on the upper level next to the Paddock Convenience Store.

Is smoking allowed?

Yes, WIFI is available throughout the campus.

How many conference rooms are available in the Warner Student Life Building?
There are a variety of 12 conference rooms to accommodate all your organization’s meeting or conference needs.

How do I reserve a conference room?
To reserve a conference room please contact Kelli Sanders at 732-224-2774, or by email at ksanders@brookdalecc.edu.

How far in advance can I book a conference?
Brookdale Community College recommends booking an event at least 3 months in advance.

What type of conference packages are available?
Platinum Package (Full Day)= 
The executive continental breakfast, traditional hot buffet lunch with 2 entree choice, & standard technical equipment

Gold Package (Full Day)= Brookdale continental breakfast, Jersey Blues super selection lunch, & standard technical equipment.

Silver Package-(Half Day)= Brookdale contiental breakfast & standard technical equipment.

What is the minimum number of guests required to hold an event?
In order to reserve a room for an event, a minimum of 20 guests are required to reserve conference packages.

What is the maximum number of people a conference room can accommodate?
The Navesink rooms can accommodate up to 400 guests, or they can be sectioned off into 3 separate rooms to accommodate 125 guests each.

Is catering provided?
Yes, Brookdale provides catering service from CulinArt.

May we bring in our own food, beverages, or outside caterers?
No. Food beverages and catering services are available through CulinArt.

Can alcohol be served during events?
Yes.

Are weekend bookings allowed?
Yes, weekend bookings are allowed. Please make a request for a customized event estimate.

What audio-visual technology services are available for conferences?
Standard Technical Equipment consist of: Microphone, Computer with Internet access, LCD Projector, Screen, Document Camera, VHS and DVD Player.
