You may be eligible for one of Brookdale’s Alternate Route Teacher Certification Programs. These comprehensive programs prepare you to enter the teaching profession by providing 200 hours of instruction in New Jersey Department of Education-approved programs.
The Alternate Route program is a non-traditional teacher preparation program designed for those individuals who have not completed a formal teacher preparation program at an accredited college or university, but wish to obtain the necessary training to become a NJ certified teacher.

New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) offers a statewide alternate route teacher preparation program for candidates who already possess a Bachelor’s Degree and Certificate of Eligibility. Candidates take NPTNJ coursework at local NJ Community Colleges.
