New Jersey Career And Technical Education Alternate Route Teacher Program

The New Jersey Department of Education provides an alternate route to certification for people with diverse educational, training and employment backgrounds interested in becoming Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers. 

Career and Technical Education, formerly designated vocational-technical education programs, are secondary school programs that prepare students for training, employment, or postsecondary education in newly developed occupations and existing professions. 

Individuals who have a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree and two years employment experience, or who have four years employment experience may be candidates for this program.
