Join Brookdale Community College as we partner with Clean Ocean Action for their Beach Sweep on Saturday, April 26th, 2014. Clean Ocean Action provides an invaluable service to the beach communities and waterways of New Jersey with their Annual Beach Sweeps. Help the organization by spending a morning to clean up our beaches, reducing marine litter, collecting data, and more.
Since 1985, over 60,000 volunteers have participated in the Beach Sweeps resulting in over 140,000 volunteer hours for the environment. Volunteer efforts have resulted in millions of pieces of debris removed from New Jersey’s Beaches. A value for this cleanup effort has been estimated to be almost two billion dollars.
Sign-up and reserve a spot on a van from Lincroft below and then meet at the Warner Student Life Center lower level entrance at the end of Arena Drive at 8:30 AM on the 26th. We will provide transportation to our Brookdale sponsored beach, Ideal Beach of Middletown. Our group will leave the beach around noon and be back on campus by 12:30 PM. All participants will get a snack and free recycled Brookdale water bottle. Sponsored by Career Services and Student Life & Activities.
Sign up is closed. Please e-mail Christopher Jeune at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to participate.
