This Visiting Writers Series event (a reschedule of December’s) is a poetry reading featuring Alicia Ostriker and Laura McCullough.
Alicia Ostriker is a poet and critic who was twice nominated for a National Book Award. She is author of twelve volumes of poetry, most recently The Book of Seventy. As a critic, Ostriker is the author of two path-breaking volumes on women’s poetry, Writing Like a Woman and Stealing the Language: The Emergence of Women’s Poetry in America. Ostriker is Professor Emerita of Rutgers University and is a faculty member of the New England College Low-Residency Poetry MFA Program.
Laura McCullough’s most recent books include Rigger Death & Hoist Another, a collection of poems, Ripple & Snap, micro-fiction/prose-poems about the aftermath of a public suicide, The Smashing House, a short fiction chapbook, and her edited anthology The Room & the World: Essays on the Poetry of Stephen Dunn. McCullough is an associate professor at Brookdale Community College.
