Configuring Outlook On An Apple iOS Device

You may use your Apple iOS device (i.e., iPhone, iPad) to synchronize contacts, appointments and email with your Outlook Exchange service. This document will guide you through the process.

NOTE: The settings outlined on this page may vary slightly across devices and versions, but these instructions should be applicable to all users of  iOS mobile devices..

You can connect your device to the Outlook Exchange server by following these steps.
1. Tap Settings.

2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. Tap Add Account.

4. Tap Microsoft Exchange.

Fill in the following information:

Email: Enter your complete email address, which is your_username@brookdalecc.edu.

Domain/Username: Depending upon your iOS version, you may have one field, “Username” or two fields, “Username” and “Domain.”  Enter your NetID username and if prompted,  Lincroft for the Domain.

Password: Enter your NetID password.

Server: Enter owa1.brookdalecc.edu

Description: This field is optional and is the name your Exchange account will have on your device, and will be displayed in a list if you have more than one email account configured.

4. Tap Next to continue.

5. Tap Save.

Once configured, your device offers to immediately sync with the Exchange server. If you choose not to sync at this time, you can turn on calendar and contact syncing later in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. By default, Exchange ActiveSync pushes new data to your device as it arrives on the server.

Important: When you configure your iPhone to sync with Exchange, all existing calendar and contact information on the iPhone is overwritten.  Additionally, iTunes no longer sync contacts and calendars with your desktop computer as now they will be auto-synced over the air with your exchange server.
