OneCard Overview

What is the Brookdale OneCard?

OneCard is Brookdale’s multipurpose card.  The OneCard serves as the new official College Photo Identification card and a load-on-demand declining balance debit card, Brookdale Bucks. Students and Staff can deposit funds into their account via cash, check, or credit card, and use their OneCard at any of Brookdale’s Dining Service facilities, designated vending machines throughout campus, and the College Store. There is no minimum deposit or balance.  Students may also have their Financial Aid Disbursements and Refunds directly deposited to their Brookdale OneCard using The Money Network® Discovered Enabled OneCard.  Please refer to The Money Network section for detailed information.

Who is eligible to get a Brookdale OneCard?

All Brookdale students, faculty, and staff are eligible to receive a Brookdale OneCard.

I am a new student - how do I get a Brookdale OneCard?

New students will have the opportunity to receive their Brookdale OneCard during Orientation. If you are not able to attend Orientation, you may obtain a Brookdale OneCard from the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus.

You may also have an ID card photo taken at any of the Regional Locations, Hazlet, Long Branch, Neptune and Wall in the Student Success Center. Your photo will be e-mailed to the ID card office and your card will be sent via inter-office mail to the Student Success Center where your photo was taken.

A valid photo ID such as driver’s license or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration is required to receive a Brookdale OneCard. Fast Start and Dual Enrollment students may use an official High School identification card as a valid ID.

I already have a Brookdale ID card. How do I get a Brookdale OneCard?

You can receive your Brookdale OneCard from the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. A valid photo ID such as driver’s license or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration (students only) is required to receive a Brookdale OneCard. Fast Start and Dual Enrollment students may use an official High School identification card as a valid ID. Staff and Faculty may use their existing Brookdale ID card as a valid photo ID.

What if I am an employee (staff or faculty) and am enrolled for one or more classes? Will I receive two cards?

No, you will not receive two cards. Your primary role, “Employee”, will be printed on your Brookdale OneCard. If you are enrolled in one or more classes during the current term, your employee OneCard will give you the same access and benefits given to all enrolled students. Please note, if you un-enroll from all your classes, your student access and benefits will no longer be available; however you will continue to have your employee access and benefits.

What if I am a student and am also a student worker at Brookdale? Will I receive two cards?

No, you will not receive two cards.  Your primary role, “Student”, will be printed on your Brookdale OneCard.  If you are enrolled for one or more classes during the current term, your student OneCard will give you the same access and benefits given to all enrolled students.  Please note, if you un-enroll from all your classes, your student access and benefits will no longer be available.

What else can I do with a Brookdale OneCard?

You can use your Brookdale OneCard at the Library for checking out materials, at Registration, at events, and at any other place you need to show a college ID. It provides you quick and easy access to venues on campus. You can also use your Brookdale OneCard along with Brookdale Bucks (an optional feature) to make campus wide pre-paid debit purchases with Brookdale Bucks at:

• Scroll & Pen Bookstores on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses.

• All dining locations on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses (Jersey Blue Dining Hall, Paddock Convenience Store, Larrison Hall Cruising, and Freehold Dining Café).

• Events and Conference Center.

• At designated vending machines on all campuses.

• BREC Fitness Center (with an approved membership package – click for more details)

How can I transfer my Financial Aid Disbursements and Refunds to my Brookdale OneCard?

To transfer your Financial Aid Disbursements or Refunds to your Brookdale OneCard, you must complete the “opt” in authorization form within WebAdvisor.  Transfers will be processed within 24 hours.  To access the authorization form:

  1. Log into WebAdvisor
  2. Click Student link from the Main menu
  3. Select the OneCard eChecks Enrollment link located under the Financial Information section.
  4. Select the option to add the Refund to your OneCard. NOTE: Financial Aid disbursement refunds are made available to recipients after the 10th day of the term for which you are enrolled. Please review the Disbursement Procedures on the Financial Aid web site for additional information.
  5. After 24 hours of, contact the Money Network Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 to activate your card and set-up your PIN.
  6. Financial Aid disbursements are distributed after the end of the add/drop period (10th day) of the term for which you are enrolled. (For example: Fall 15 week and Fall 11week). If your award includes a student loan, your student loan will not be posted to your account until thirty days after the first day of classes. You will not see any balance on your Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard account until after the add/drop period.

NOTE:  This is a one-time opt-in process and all future Financial Aid disbursements and refunds will continue to be disbursed to the Brookdale Money Network® Discover® OneCard account.  To opt out of the Brookdale Money Network® Discover® OneCard account you MUST contact the HelpDesk at 732-224-2829 or email onecard@brookdalecc.edu.

I lost my Brookdale OneCard, what should I do?

If you have Brookdale Bucks and or The Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard balances loaded on your card your MUST report it lost or stolen (see detailed instructions for deactivating below).

If you do not have Brookdale Bucks or The Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard funds on your Brookdale OneCard, you may obtain a replacement card from the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. A valid photo ID such as driver’s license, high school ID, or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration is required to receive a replacement Brookdale OneCard.

Deactivating Brookdale Bucks

Using a Web Browser:

  1. Go to Brookdale Buck eAccounts
  2. Enter your NetID username and password to access your account.
  3. Click the Card Services link at the top of the window.
  4. Click Deactivate Card. Deactivating the card will freeze the balance on the card. Any balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card when it is issued.

Using the Mobile Application:

  1. Launch the eAccounts app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Login with your your NetID username and password
  3. Touch the Lost Card button.
  4. Touch the Deactivate Card button at the bottom of the screen.

You can call the Brookdale OneCard office during business hours at 732-224-2888 to report a lost or stolen card. However, Brookdale Community College is NOT authorized to deactivate the card. The card holder is solely responsible for deactivating the card in order to protect any unused Brookdale Bucks.

Deactivating The Money Network® Discover Enabled account

If you have activated the Money Network® Discover Enabled account you MUST:

  1. Call Customer Service at (800) 822-4283 and report your card lost/stolen to deactivate the account.
  2. Obtain a replacement card at the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. A valid photo ID such as driver’s license, high school ID, or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration is required to receive a replacement Brookdale OneCard.
  3. Any Financial Aid Disbursements or Refund balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card  within 24 hours of receiving your replacement card.
  4. Call Money Network Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 to activate the replacement card.

Fees

There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged cards.  An official police report that has been approved from the Dean of Student Affairs (office located in MAC 106 on the Lincroft Campus) will waive the replacement fee for stolen cards.

Getting your Replacement Card

Replacement cards are issued for damaged, lost or stolen cards at the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged cards. The filing of an official police report will waive the replacement fee for stolen cards.

What are consequences for misuse of a card?

Your Brookdale OneCard is an official Brookdale resource. All authorized users must abide by applicable Brookdale policies and guidelines, as detailed in the Acceptable Use Policies for all Brookdale users.

Failure to comply with approved policies can result in the loss of access, computing privileges, and enforcement of appropriate disciplinary procedures as well as applicable criminal and civil penalties. All users must in addition abide by the policies described in the Brookdale Community College OneCard Policies and Procedures Terms and Conditions.

 

When will the old Brookdale ID card expire?

The old Brookdale ID card will expire on 10/17/2014.  All Brookdale students and staff will need the new Brookdale OneCard to be eligible for discounts and access to various resources.

Brookdale Bucks

What are Brookdale Bucks?

The Brookdale Bucks program is a convenient pre-paid, declining balance debit account, linked to your Brookdale OneCard that lets you use your Brookdale OneCard to make purchases on campus. Deposit funds into your Brookdale Bucks eAccount via cash, check, or credit card, and begin using your Brookdale OneCard for purchases on campus.

Where can I use Brookdale Bucks?

You can use Brookdale Bucks at;

• Scroll & Pen Bookstores on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses.

• All dining locations on the Lincroft and Freehold campuses (Jersey Blue Dining Hall, Paddock Convenience Store, Larrison Hall Cruising, and Freehold Dining Café).

• Events and Conference Center.

Designated vending machines on all campuses.

• BREC Fitness Center (Coming Soon!).

How do I use Brookdale Bucks?

The first step is to get your Brookdale OneCard.  Then you will need to deposit funds to your Brookdale Bucks eAccount.  Access your account by logging into the Brookdale Bucks eAccount system using your Net ID user name and password and add funds to the account (see “How can I add funds to my Brookdale Bucks” for additional information). Your Brookdale Bucks account is tied to your Brookdale OneCard.

Brookdale Bucks are accessed using the black mag stripe side of the Brookdale OneCard and is the recommended method of payment on campus.  Simply present your Brookdale OneCard to the cashier where Brookdale Bucks are accepted, and state that you would like to pay with Brookdale Bucks. Your card will be swiped through the register and your account will be debited. You can swipe your Brookdale Onecard on designated campus vending machines to make purchases.

What is the advantage of using Brookdale Bucks as opposed to a personal debit card?

Credit cards are not accepted at all locations on campus. You may be eligible for discounts and promotions when using Brookdale Bucks on campus.

How can I add funds to my Brookdale Bucks?

The eAccounts Online OneCard Self-Service offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to load money onto their  Brookdale Bucks 24/7 via the internet. Login in using your NetID username and password to transfer money from a credit card onto your Brookdale Bucks account. You can also add Brookdale Bucks to your account at the Cashiers Office in the CAR building in Lincroft and the OneCard Phil station (an ATM like machine) located in the Warner Student Life Center, first floor next to the College Bookstore.

What is my Brookdale Bucks user name and password?

You can manage your Brookdale Bucks eAccount 24/7 using the online Brookdale Bucks OneCard Self–Service eAccounts Enter your NetID user name and password login to eAccounts to make deposits, check balances and view transactions history and statements.

How can I manage my Brookdale Bucks account (i.e. check balances, see purchase history, make inquiries regarding purchases)?

Brookdale Bucks are managed online by logging into Brookdale Bucks OneCard Self-Service eAccount using your NetID username and password.  You can also click on the the Brookdale Bucks green icon on www.brookdalecc.edu/onecard/brookdale-bucks/ to log into your eAccount. You can make deposits, check balances and get a statement of your transactions.

Are Brookdale Bucks secure?

Brookdale Bucks are maintained on a secure network and only the account holder can check balances and view transactions. Account holders can mange their account by logging into their MyBrookdale Bucks eAccount using their NETID username and password.  You can make deposits, check balances and get a statement of  transactions.

Is there a mobile app for Brookdale Bucks?

Yes.  Download the BB Transact  mobile application for the Android or for iOS devices, select Brookdale from the list of schools and login using your NetID user name and password. You can view your account balances, and transaction history.  If you want to transfer money to your Brookdale Bucks eAccount, you will first need to log into the eAccounts using your NetID user name and password and save your credit card information to your account.

Can parents or relatives purchase Brookdale Bucks for me?

Yes, parents and relatives can deposit money into your account, but cannot see your account balance or usage. You can personalize your account by granting individuals permission to add funds. They must know your 7-digit Brookdale College ID to add funds. You can also establish a low balance warning email, which will be sent to you and others. You can also set up recurring deposits when your balance gets low. Parents or relatives can make a deposit to your Brookdale Bucks account by logging into the Brookdale Bucks eAccount Self-Service and selecting the Guest Deposit link.

What if I have a Brookdale Bucks balance?

Refund requests must be submitted to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building or the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. You can submit an online electronic refund request form. Approved refund checks are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for balances less than $25. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

Can I withdraw cash from my Brookdale Bucks account?

No. Brookdale Bucks can only be used for purchases.

 

How do I close my Brookdale Bucks account?

You must submit a Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form to close your Brookdale Bucks account. You may obtain a Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form from the Cashiers window in the CAR building on the Lincroft campus. You may also submit an electronic Brookdale Bucks Account Closure Form.

If I close my Brookdale Bucks account, can I receive cash at the time of closing?

No, there are no cash refunds for unused Brookdale Bucks. A refund requests must be submitted to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building. You can submit an online electronic refund request form . Refunds are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for $25 or less. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

Is there a fee associated with closing a Brookdale Bucks account with a balance?

No, there are no fees associated with closing Brookdale Bucks account.

 

Why can’t parents view the students account balance and activity online?

According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), we are unable to share this information. The law is designed to protect the privacy of the students. The student may grant access up to ten people to view the account details. Click here for FERPA guidelines outlined in the Terms and Conditions.

What happens to funds at the end of each semester?

The funds deposited into a Brookdale Bucks account remain active for up to five years from the last enrolled term. You may request a refund for any unused balances over $25.  A refund requests must be submitted to Cashiers window at Lincroft located in the CAR building. You can submit an online electronic refund request form. Refunds are made payable to the account holder and mailed to the current address on file. Refunds will not be processed for $25 or less. You are encouraged to spend smaller balances.

When does a card become inactive?

When you are no longer enrolled as a credit student at Brookdale, which gets determined during the add/drop period, the Brookdale OneCard will no longer be a valid Brookdale Community College Photo ID. However, Brookdale Bucks will remain active and redeemable for purchases on campus for a period of five years from the time of your last current enrollment. For further information regarding your status, please contact the Registrar’s Office.  An authorized college administrator for just cause can direct the Campus ID Office to manually activate or deactivate a card.

 

The Money Network

What is The Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard?

The Money Network® Account is an optional feature of the Brookdale OneCard. Financial Aid disbursements and refunds can be deposited directly into your Brookdale OneCard Money Network® account. The Money Network® Enabled Discover® OneCard is not a credit card, but a prepaid debit card. All funds are FDIC insured. The Money Network® Enabled Discover® OneCard is NOT the same as Brookdale Bucks. These are two separate accounts. The Brookdale OneCard Money Network® Enabled Discover® funds are accessed using the hologram mag strip of the Brookdale OneCard. For more information, visit Money Network®. How can I transfer financial aid disbursments and refunds to my Brookdale OneCard?

To transfer your Financial Aid disbursements and refunds to your Brookdale OneCard, you must complete the “opt” in authorization form within WebAdvisor prior to 10th day of the term for which you are enrolled. How do I activate my Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard?

You must wait approximately 24 hours after receiving your Brookdale OneCard and have opted into having your Financial Aid  Disbursement and or Refund deposited on to your Brookdale OneCard to activate your account. Call Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 and follow the prompts to activate the service and create your new PIN. If you prefer, you may activate your account online at https://www.moneynetworkedu.com. You must select “First Time Users: Register Now” to activate your card.

How do I get my PIN?

Call the 1-800 number on the back of your card to activate the Money Network account. Follow the voice prompts to enter the card number, your birthday, and to select your PIN.

How do I know if my Financial Aid disbursement or refund has been deposited to my Brookdale OneCard?

You must first “opt-in” to have your Financial Aid disbursement deposited onto your Brookdale OneCard.  For details on “opting-in” in, please review the “How can I transfer financial aid disbursements and refunds to my Brookdale OneCard?”  FAQ.

Financial Aid disbursement and refunds are made available to recipients after the 10th day of the term for which you are enrolled (please review the Disbursement Procedures on the Financial Aid web site for additional information). Once the funds are available, you can check your Money Network account balance by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your card or by logging into your Money Network account online at www.moneynetworkedu.com.

Can I transfer money from Brookdale Bucks to my Money Network Discovered Enabled OneCard account?

No, Brookdale Bucks may not be transferred to the Money Network  Discovered Enabled OneCard account.

If my financial aid award is more than the cost of my tuition and fees, how do I use my financial aid in the College Store?

  • Sign on WEB ADVISOR and click on My Student Account Activity to check your balance.

If your financial aid is more than your tuition and fees, you have the option, up to the first two weeks of the term to use your funds in the College Store to purchase your books. At this point your ONE CARD WILL NOT SHOW A BALANCE, but you must use it to identify yourself (identification documentation). The College Store will be able to see your account, the amount you have available for college store charges, and charge your purchases to your student account.

What do I do if I forgot my PIN?

Call Money Network Customer Service.  That 1-800 number is on the back of your card.

Can I get cash at an ATM with my Money Network Enabled Discover OneCard?

Yes, you must swipe your card, enter your PIN and select Withdrawal from Checking. There may be fees associated when making a withdrawal from an Out-of-Network ATM.  Brookdale Community College has an In-Network-ATM located in the Student Life Center across from the Scroll and Pen Bookstore.  To learn more about In-Network-ATM locations, please refer to the Money Network Locator.

Do I get a new OneCard each time I get a new Financial Aid disbursement or Refund?

No, unless you lose or damage your card, your refunds are deposited into your existing Brookdale Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard Account each time a disbursement occurs. You can use your existing card to access the money in your account at any time. If you choose to have your refund placed onto your Money Network enabled OneCard you will only need to make this choice once. All future Financial Aid disbursements and refunds will continue to be disbursed to the same Brookdale Money Network® Discover® OneCard account.

To “opt out” of the Brookdale Money Network® Discover® OneCard account you MUST contact the HelpDesk at 732-224-2829 or email onecard@brookdalecc.edu. You must “opt-out” prior to 10th day of the term in which your are enrolled, otherwise your disbursements will continue to deposited to your Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard account.

What if I don't spend all of my money?

Your money will remain in your Monet Network Discover Enabled OneCard Account until you spend, transfer or withdraw it. A monthly fee may apply if your card does not register any activity for a specified period of time (See Fee Schedule for more information).

How do I "opt-out" of receiving my refund or Finacial Aid disbursement on my Brookdale OneCard?

To “opt-out” you MUST contact the HelpDesk at 732-224-2829 or email onecard@brookdalecc.edu.  Please note that you must contact the HelpDesk at 732-224-2829 or email onecard@brookdalecc.edu to “opt-out” prior to the 10th day of the term for which you are enrolled, otherwise your disbursements will continue to deposited to your Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard account. Is there a mobile app for The Money Network?

Yes. Download the Money Network® Mobile App for the Android from Google Play or  for iOS devices from iTunes. The Money Network Mobile App (My MN) is an account management tool for Money Network® cardholders. With My MN, you can have easy, quick access to your Account information anytime, anywhere, check balances, purchases and transaction history.   NOTE: Before using the mobile app you must register your account by logging into The Money Network Discover Enabled OneCard account on the web at  https://www.moneynetworkedu.com/. Click the “First Time User: Register Now” link to create your online account.

I lost my card. What should I do?

Deactivating The Money Network® Discover Enabled account

If you have activated the Money Network® Discover Enabled account, you MUST call Customer Service at (800) 822-4283 and report your card lost/stolen. Once reported, your card will be deactivated so that it can no longer be used.

Lost. Stolen and Damaged Cards

I lost my Brookdale OneCard, what should I do?

If you have Brookdale Bucks and or The Money Network Discover OneCard funds loaded on your card your MUST report it lost or stolen to protect any unused balances.

To report your card lost or stolen, you can login to the Brookdale Community College Brookdale Bucks eAccounts and deactivate your Brookdale Bucks eAccount site 24 hours a day 7 days a week. To do this, follow the steps below:

  4. Click Deactivate Card. Deactivating the card will freeze the balance on the card. Any balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card when it is issued.

Using the Mobile Application:

  1. Launch the eAccounts app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Login with your your NetID username and password
  3. Touch the Lost Card button.
  4. Touch the Deactivate Card button at the bottom of the screen.

 

NOTE: If you are unable to access your Brookdale Bucks eAccount online or on your mobile device, call the OIT Help Desk at (732) 224-2829 to report a lost or stolen card. OIT will assist in deactivating your card in order to protect any unused Brookdale Bucks. You MUST then get a replacement card. Any Brookdale Bucks balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card when it is issued.

Deactivating The Money Network® Discover Enabled account

If you have activated the Money Network® Discover Enabled account, you MUST:

  1. Call Customer Service at (800) 822-4283 and report your card lost/stolen and deactivate your account.
  2. Obtain a replacement card at the Brookdale OneCard Production Office located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft Campus or at the Self Check-In Kiosk on the Freehold Campus. A valid photo ID such as driver’s license, high school ID, or passport as well as proof of current Brookdale registration is required to receive a replacement Brookdale OneCard.
  3. Any Financial Aid disbursement or refund balance will automatically be transferred to the replacement card within 24 hours of receiving your replacement card.
  4. After 24 hours, call the Money Network Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 to activate the replacement card.

Fees

There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged cards.  The filing of an official police report will waive the replacement fee for stolen cards.

Is there a replacement fee for a lost, stolen or damaged card?

Replacement cards are issued for damaged, lost or stolen cards at the OneCard Production Center located in room 109 (lower level) of the Warner Student Life Center in Lincroft and in Freehold at the Self Check- in Kiosk.  There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged cards. An official police report that has been approved from the Dean of Student Affairs (office located in MAC 106 on the Lincroft Campus) will waive the replacement fee for stolen cards.
