At your New Student Orientation session we’ll provide you with all the tools you need to start your Brookdale experience as well as some fun and entertaining events!

Students are assigned to a particular session, based on your academic interests and should receive an invitation in the mail. Both full and part-time new students will meet new classmates, Brookdale faculty/staff and learn about: services for students, how to access Brookdale Technology, the layout of the campus through a guided tour, how to get your new student I.D. card (please bring a photo I.D.)

We look forward to seeing you on your first day at Brookdale. Any questions please call 732-224-2788.

New Student Athlete Orientation is designed with new student athletes in mind; attend this orientation session if you are a new student planning to play in an intercollegiate sport at Brookdale and have already confirmed your intentions with the Athletic Department. Participants will meet new students, learn about qualifications and athletic regulations, meet with a representative of Counseling, learn how to use technology to succeed in college, take a tour of campus with upper-class athletes and have your first team meeting of the year with your coach.

For more information contact the Jersey Blues Athletic Department at 732-224-2377.

Students attending classes at one of our regional locations should attend the New Student Success Night planned for the Branch Campus or Higher Education Center at which they are enrolled. We will help you (and your family) get ready for your first term including sessions on: transition to college, technology & library skills, an information fair and more!

Please contact the Student Success Centers at 732-224-2600 for more information.

The International Student Orientation is mandatory for all new students in F-1 status. Recent immigrants and U.S. citizens who grew up overseas are also welcomed.

You will have an opportunity to meet new and current Brookdale students, faculty and staff. We will cover academic, immigration, and cultural adjustment issues. You will also learn about International Student Association and other involvement opportunities through clubs as well as Brookdale's athletic programs.

For more information please contact the International Education Center via e-mail at international@brookdalecc.edu

The Honors Program Orientation introduces students to Honors at Brookdale which provides an enriched academic experience to a select cohort of highly motivated students. Students who applied for the honors program will be invited directly to this session where they will meet the faculty and staff, returning honors students, and learn more about the program of study.

Students with questions should e-mail Dr. Laura Neitzel at lneitzel@brookdalecc.edu

The Culinary Education Orientation is for incoming college level students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program. This session is held at the Culinary Education Center in Asbury Park. Students in the program are invited by mail to this session.

For students enrolled in an on-line course in the Fall 2012 term the college has scheduled two Distance Education Orientation sessions. For students new to online learning at Brookdale Community College it is strongly recommended that they attend either the face-to-face session or the virtual orientation online.
