Brookdale will host the symposium, “Sea Level Rise in New Jersey: Causes, Effects and a Call to Action,” on Saturday, September 29, in the Warner Student Life Center. Registration will begin at 8:30 PM with the program starting at 9 AM and concluding at 2:30 PM.
Participants in the day’s events will hear the latest scientific information about the issue of sea level rise, how it will affect our municipalities, and a list of available resources for taking action.
Cindy Zipf, Executive Director of Clean Ocean Action, will provide opening remarks; a pre-recorded interview with Congressman Rush Holt will close the symposium.
A panel of experts will include Dr. Norbert P. Psuty, Professor Emeritus at Rutgers The State University of New Jersey; Professor Patrick Hossa, Richard Stockton College of New Jersey; William Shadell, American Littoral Society; Dr. Jon K. Miller, Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology; Randall Solomon, Co-Director of the Institute for Sustainability; and Lisa Auermulle, Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research.
There will be a question & answer opportunities, and resource tables will provide a variety of information.
Co-sponsoring the event with Brookdale are the Monmouth County Environmental Council, the American Littoral Society, and Clean Ocean Action.
