Evening Lecture with Zach Wahls on What Makes A Family?
Published on Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Brookdale’s Student Life & Activities invites the community to attend an evening lecture on Tuesday, October 9, featuring Zack Wahls speaking on “What Makes a Family?”

Doors will open at 6pm for Wahls' 7pm presentation in the Warner Student Life Center. The talk is free and open to all.

The son of two lesbian mothers, Wahls, as a 19-year-old University of Iowa engineering student, had no idea that his heartfelt testimony before the Iowa State Legislature would make him a national figure, with over 2 million YouTube views and national and international media attention including appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, MSNBC and CNN.

Wahls’ book, What Makes a Family, grew from his many college and university visits, in which he shares a fresh, bold perspective on the often contentious issue of gay marriage.

His visit is sponsored by Student Life & Activities, who may be contacted for more information at 732-224-2500.

Save the date for the Student Life-sponsored lecture by Matt Roloff from Little People, Big World, on October 16; Roloff will address the social stigmas and physical limitations of being a dwarf and how he embraces these not as obstacles, but as opportunities.
