A Law Enforcement Career Fair and tribute to our first responders will be held at Brookdale on Friday, May 17, from 9 AM to 3 PM in the Warner Student Life Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Representatives from Federal, State, County and local law enforcement agencies will be present to promote careers in their respective agencies, a few of which are presently hiring. Among the agencies that will be represented are the DEA, ATF, FBI, ICE, Secret Service, Homeland Security, NYPD, NJSP, Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, and the Ocean Township and Neptune Township Police Departments.
A more complete list is available below.
The event is sponsored by the College's Criminal Justice Department in partnership with the Central NJ Chapter of NOBLE, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.
One NOBLE member who has been instrumental in bringing the event to the College is Det. Dan Baldwin of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, who is also a Brookdale adjunct instructor in Criminal Justice.
Det. Baldwin’s detective work is credited in the recently published book, The Good Nurse by Charles Graedon, with bringing down notorious serial killer Charles Cullen, who confessed to killing 13 patients in New Jersey. In a recent CBS "60 Minutes" program, during which Det. Baldwin was interviewed, Cullen confides that he would have continued killing were it not for the effective detective work.
Det. Baldwin will be joined at Law Enforcement Career Fair by other NOBLE members and Brookdale Criminal Justice faculty members, as well as many law enforcement agency representatives, to promote and inspire careers in the criminal justice system. Members of the public are also invited to attend and join participants in thanking our first responders who risk their lives to protect and serve. Special memorial tribute will be paid to those who have fallen in the line of duty.
