November 25 -- Protecting Coastal and Global Resources in the 21st Century
Guest Speaker: Tony MacDonald, Director, Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute; Advisor to the Committee on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Water Resources Science, Engineering, and Planning – Coastal Risk Reduction.
MacDonald will discuss the issues that must be addressed to protect the planet’s coastal and ocean resources in the 21st Century. Topics to be discussed include drilling for oil and natural gas, over-fishing, increased recreational use, container ships, port facilities, and continued population growth and subsequent pollution in coastal areas.
