The Nursing advanced placement challenge includes the following activities to challenge NURS 160/161:

• a math for meds calculation exam
• a satisfactory concept map that applies nursing care planning to a sample client
• demonstration of select nursing skills in the skills lab
•  

Students who also opt to challenge NURS 162 need to achieve all of the above as well as recieve a satisfactory score on a standardized exam.

•   Brookdale faculty have created coaching/ review activities to assist you to be successful in the challenge. These activities are recommended, and provided as part of the challenge. They take the form of on-line reviews, powerpoints and skills reviews in the skills lab. You can review these activites via the internet once you have registered for the course. They can be reviewed at home, or on the Brookdale campus. We will assist you with accessing the materials and review sessions. In addition, you may participate in discussion forums designed to promote success in the challenge process.  All of the coaching/ review tools will be offered in an on-line format. It is required that the prospective student take the READI Assessment to identify their strengths and weakness in an online environment.
