Curriculum Maps
Curriculum Mapping is a process for showing curriculum-integration at the institutional, program, and course levels to determine whether all students in a program or course are getting sufficient opportunities to achieve all intended learning outcomes and core competencies. Their purpose is to identify any areas in the curriculum that are not being adequately and/or consistently delivered to all students in a program or course, and to assist faculty in making the necessary changes to the curriculum as a result of the information obtained in the maps.
At Brookdale, in concert with the Executive Vice President of Educational Services, three types of curriculum maps have been developed that illustrate the connections between:
1. Core Competencies and course learning outcomes

2. Core Competencies and a program’s course offerings

3. Program learning outcomes (PLOs) and courses in the program
