Biography of Dean William F. Burns
William F. Burns is the Dean of the Arts and Communication Division at Brookdale Community College. Dean Burns started at Brookdale in the classroom as an adjunct instructor. He has taught part time at Monmouth University. He also worked as Head Teaching Assistant for the Broadcast Journalism Department at New York University. Until July of 2008, Dean Burns was an Associate Professor in Brookdale's Communication Media Department where he has taught full time since 1997. He also served as Department Chair and was named outstanding colleague for the 2008-09 academic year.
Dean Burns also has news reporting experience. He worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend assignment editor at WYOU TV, the CBS affiliate in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Dean Burns also worked in radio news. While at WILK AM in Northeast Pennsylvania, he was a reporter, anchor, sports anchor, producer and finally, Assistant News Director.
Dean Burns has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Marist College, a Master of Arts Degree in Journalism from New York University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) degree at Drew University.
