Instructor Profile

Anthony J. Haddad, PMP

Anthony (Tony) Haddad spent thirty years in the Aerospace industry at AlliedSignal Aerospace (now Honeywell International). He held several engineering positions in the automatic test equipment (ATE) business where he designed ATE hardware and software for various weapon systems. He received several promotions over the years, with the highest position being Director of Programs for the Electric Power Division in Eatontown, NJ. There, he created a Program Office that was responsible for all development and high-visibility manufacturing programs at the division.

Noted for his development of a strong Earned Value discipline and adherence to CPM, Tony left his position of Director of Programs in 1994 and began a consulting career specializing in PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) based training and turnkey project management systems. The consulting firm, Microdata Systems, Inc., has since been certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Registered Education Provider (REP) for its training programs and as a Microsoft Partner for its expertise in Microsoft Project.

Tony provided Program Management Services and Training to AlliedSignal, Modis, DCI New Media, MetLife and AT&T among others. While providing services to AT&T, Tony was chosen by the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) Committee on Arrangements (COA) as the project manager for all aspects of the 2000 Republican National Convention. Prior to taking this assignment, Tony had developed unique (VBA) tools and processes that were applied to the convention. Tony used CPM, War Room methods and Dashboard charts (with Green, Yellow and Red status indicators) to provide comprehensive convention visibility. He chaired weekly meetings with each of the COA's division heads, their staff members, and President Bush's staff. He also managed the daily project management activities with the COA suppliers during the intense build-out of the convention venue.

Recalling the success of the national convention, Tony was then asked to help Elizabeth Dole launch her U.S. Senate Campaign in North Carolina in 2002. Based upon his unique project management approach, Tony was twice invited by the White House to make presentations on his methodology to senior White House staff members at the White House Executive Offices in Washington, DC.

Tony is currently employed by Modus Operandi, Inc., a high tech software company based in Indialantic, Florida. He is Director of Army Strategic Programs. He is providing consulting services to the U.S. Army at Fort Monmouth.

The 36-hour course that is being offered at Brookdale is identical to Microdata’s ‘Achieving Excellence in Project Management’ course that was certified by PMI. This course satisfies all the classroom requirements needed to sit for the PMP examination. It covers all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The course goes a step further in that it shows, in practical terms, how to apply the PMBOK concepts. An extensive amount of time is spent on applying these concepts with Microsoft Project. Hands-on exercises are conducted during the course. The software that is provided with the course is Microsoft Project 2007 Academic version. It is a fully operational version of the 2007 Standard edition. A laptop is recommended, but not required for this course.

Tony holds a BS (Summa-Cum-Laude) and an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a certified instructor for many other Project Management Certificate programs.
