Student Handbook

On behalf of everyone at Brookdale, welcome!

Please be sure that you have a copy of the Brookdale catalog: it is your “contract” with the College. The course requirements listed in the catalog define your progress and serve as your official stepping stones to an Associate degree. Use the catalog to keep track of your progress, and carefully review the sections on grading and student conduct. Knowledge of these policies is required of each student.

Available to help you with your “contract” is your Student Development Specialist, or Counselor.  I urge you to work closely with your Counselor throughout your time at Brookdale to ensure you meet all your goals.

You may access your personal information, including schedule, financial aid status, grades and courses completed, using  Webadvisor.

You also have your own Brookdale e-mail address. Your Brookdale e-mail will, among other services, notify you of vital registration, attendance, and graduate information. Details on how to access your e-mail were mailed to you, and are also outlined here. You may forward your Brookdale e-mail to your existing personal e-mail address.

If you don't have a computer at home, there are plenty of computer labs on the main campus (particularly in the Bankier Library) and at all Brookdale's Higher Education Centers.

If you have any questions, ask any Brookdale employee: we're all here to help you succeed!

Again, welcome, and best wishes for your educational and personal success.

A NOTE ON THE STUDENT HANDBOOK

The Student Handbook is distributed by the Office of Student Life & Activities to help students familiarize themselves with the College’s policies and procedures. However it is not the official statement of Brookdale Community College’s policies and procedures and it is subject to change without notice. For more information please contact the Office of Student Life & Activities located in the Warner Student Life Center, Room 101, 732-224-2390.
