Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program

Become a veterinary assistant and join the growing field of veterinary medicine! This position is an integral part of the veterinary team, working under the guidance of a veterinarian or credentialed veterinary technician. Through classroom and clinical instruction, the assistant will become multi-skilled and knowledgeable in the following:

  • Vital signs and assessments
  • Medication administration and fluid therapy
  • Handling and restraint
  • Disease processes
  • Infection control
  • Basic venipuncture
  • Laboratory techniques
  • Medical documentation 
  • Client communication.

Prerequisites: 

High school diploma or GED, six months experience in the veterinary field, English language proficiency, criminal background check, drug screening, physical including tetanus vaccine, health insurance, fitness for duty form signed, privacy form signed, and charcoal gray scrubs and white sneakers.
