Brookdale’s general education courses meet the student learning objectives set forth by the New Jersey Community College Academic Officers Association under the authority of the New Jersey Presidents’ Council.
All programs leading to an associate degree at Brookdale will include a distribution of courses in the general education portion of the curricula from the following major knowledge areas:
Communications (C)
Humanities (HU)
Social Sciences (SS)
Mathematics (M)
Sciences (SC)
Technological or Information Literacy (IT)
History (HI)

Students should choose general education courses based upon the degree sought, and their specific transfer plans. Please work to design a plan of study with your student development specialist (academic counselor), who will approve your plan in the name of the College.
