Student Life connects students to useful information as well as cultural and entertainment opportunities available in the surrounding community through their Front Desk operations in the Warner Student Life Center. At the beginning of each long semester (Fall & Spring) the department’s schedule of bus trips to area attractions, including Broadway shows, museums and other cultural events will be available here.
 

MOVIE THEATER PASSES

Passes to AMC/LOEW’S & the NATIONAL AMUSEMENTS HAZLET theater are available at the Student Activities Information Desk (upper level Student Life Center) year round. There is a limit of two tickets per person per week at the discounted rate, subject to availability.
 
AMC/LOEW’S Students $6.50, Staff $7 and Community $7.50
NATIONAL AMUSEMENTS HAZLET Students $7, Staff $7.50 and Community $8

SIX FLAGS

Passes to Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor are available at the Student Activities Information Desk (upper level Student Life Center) during the park’s open season.
 
Great Adventure THEME Park/wild SAFARI Daily Pass One day admission to Six Flags Great Adventure valid on regular operating days during the 2009 season (includes Theme Park & Wild Safari) on sale now at the Student Life Center Information Desk.  The cost to currently enrolled   students is $20 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Staff/Faculty $25 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Community $30.

Hurricane Harbor Daily Pass One day admission to Hurricane Harbor valid on regular operating days during the 2009 season. The cost to currently enrolled students is $20 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Staff/Faculty $23 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Community $25.
Hurricane Harbor Season Pass Season Pass offers unlimited Hurricane Harbor visits on regular operating days during the 2009 season. The cost to currently enrolled students is $80 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Staff/Faculty $85 (limit 2 per week at the discount rate); Community $90.

FALL 2009 BUS TRIPS

All tickets will go on sale to current Brookdale students, with valid student I.D.’s, on Tuesday, September 8 at the Warner Student Life Center info desk. Tickets for faculty/staff and community members will be available for sale on Monday, September 28 at the info desk (unless noted otherwise).

West Side Story at the Palace Theater
Bus leaves lot #1 at 4:00 PM
The classic American musical returns to Broadway. The story of Romeo and Juliet is transported to the turbulent streets of New York City in the 1950s. Star-crossed lovers are caught between rival street gangs. This production of West Side Story was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Prices are $60.00 for Brookdale students, $80.00 for faculty/staff and $110.00 for community members. (Please Note: Due to the early scheduling of this trip tickets for West Side Story will be available for sale to all members of the campus community on Monday, August 31)

Terror Behind the Walls

Liberty Science Center

Liberty Science Center is an interactive science museum and learning center located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. The center, which first opened in 1993 as New Jersey’s first major science museum, has science exhibits, the world’s largest IMAX Dome theater, numerous educational resources, and the original Hoberman sphere, a silver, computer-driven engineering artwork designed by Chuck Hoberman. Prices are Brookdale Students $15, Faculty/Staff $20, Community $25.

Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum, located at 200 Eastern Parkway, is the second-largest art museum in New York City, and one of the largest in the United States. One of the premier art institutions in the world, its permanent collection includes more than one-and-a-half million objects, from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art, and the art of many other cultures. Housed in a 560,000 square foot Beaux-Art building, approximately 500,000 patrons visit the museum each year. Prices are Brookdale Students $15, Faculty/Staff $20, Community $25.

The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center

Little Marie at the Christmas party, the marching toy soldiers and the adorable mice, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Mother Ginger in her 85-pound dress, and a dreamy on-stage snowstorm are all set to Tschaikovsky’s memorable music. So many beautiful ballet dancers, so many magical sets and the one-ton Christmas tree that no one can forget make this show another seasonal main-stay in the city. Prices are Brookdale Students $35, Faculty/Staff $45 and Community $65.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular stars the world famous Radio City Rockettes in an unparalleled show featuring the Rockettes signature eye high kicks, precision choreography and exciting show stopping numbers that will delight the whole family. Prices are Brookdale Students $30, Faculty/Staff $40 and Community $60.


TICKET SALE POLICY

1.There is a limit of 2 discounted tickets per trip. Students may not purchase more then two tickets until the open sale period. For on-going ticket sales for movies and Six Flags there is a limit of two discounted tickets per week. For Six Flags a limit of two discounted season passes per season.
2. The first three weeks of sales and sign ups for any department sponsored bus trips during the long term (Fall & Spring) will be for current term students only. On the Monday of the Fourth Week of the term, BCC staff and community may sign up depending on ticket/seat availability. Tickets will immediately be open for all buyers if the trip occurs within the three week hold period.
3. Students must present a valid I.D. card in person to purchase tickets at the student discounted rate. All I.D. cards must be validated for the current term. To buy tickets/passes at the student rate you must be currently enrolled in that particular term. Students at the Higher Education Centers and Branch Campus may coordinate ticket purchases with a Student Services Generalist.
4. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis; with sales starting at 10 AM on the first full day of classes for each term.
5. No reservations will be taken or tickets/seats held.
6. No cancellations will be accepted later than three days prior to the date of the trip. No refunds will be made unless your ticket/seat can be resold.
7. No one under the age of 18 will be permitted on any Student Life & Activities sponsored trips unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
8. All trip participants should denote whether they are utilizing the transportation provided at the time of ticket purchase. If utilizing transportation provided participants must bring a form of I.D. with them on the trip.
9. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on college-sponsored trips.
10. Any violation of rules concerning ticket sales will result in the loss of your privilege to participate in student programs for a period of time determined by the Office of Student Life & Activities.
