Academic Calendars
2009-2010 (Revised 03-31-09)
Revisions to the 2009-2010 calendar are as follows:
Beginning with Spring 2010 the 10-week semesters will be 11-week semesters
Summer II 2010 - Start date Wednesday, June 2nd - End date Wednesday, August 11th
Due to Independence Day falling on a Sunday, the College will be closed Monday, July 5th. The Monday classes will be held on Wednesday August 11, 2010.
Fall 2009 15-week and 10-week semesters include two "day switches". Since Labor Day falls on September 7th, in order to allow for enough class meetings for Thursday and Friday classes, Thursday classes will be held on Tuesday, December 22 and Friday classes will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd.
- Change from 2011 spring 10-week to spring 11-week – making the 1st day of the 11-week semester,
February 16, 2011.
- Summer II 2011 – changing start date to June 1st and end date to August 10th. Because the Memorial Day holiday is late that year and Independence Day falls on a Monday, we need to allow for an additional Monday meeting time so will have an exchange of days at the end of the semester – Wednesday, August 10th is the last day; however, Monday classes will be held.
2010-2011 (Revised 08-13-09)
- Change from 2010 fall 10-week to fall 11-week – making the 1st day of the 11-week semester,
October 5, 2010. Because of the late Labor Day holiday, the fall 15-week and fall 11-week will have an exchange of days at the end of the semester similar to this coming fall 2009 semester – for example, on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, Wednesday classes will be held. In addition, there will only be 14 Saturdays in the 15-week semester and 10 Saturdays in the 11-week semesters so Academic Division Deans will be working with their department chairs to add time to the Saturday offerings.
