John DalyJohn Daly

Private First Class John Daly, U.S. Army, 29th Infantry Division, saw and experienced war as a basic infantryman during the eleven-month Allied campaign to liberate Europe.  He survived the ordeal and only committed his memories to paper in 2005 after returning from a visit to Normandy France with his family.  Per his family's permission, the Center has been granted the priviledge to publish his memoirs which provide living testimony to not only his experiences during WW II but to the experiences of so, so many that did not return.

Click here to read about the incredibly brave 29th Infantry Division on Omaha Beach, D-Day 6th June 1944; in the hedgerow countryside in Normandy, France; fighting during the the Battle of the Bulge; and crossing the Rhine River in 1945 to enter Nazi Germany for the final blow.  It is a memoir you will read from start to finish.
