Course Testing

ALL students, including visiting students, must have a Brookdale Community College photo Identification Card to take a course exam in the Testing Center.  Please click here for information on obtaining an ID Card.

 Your course instructors may have you take an exam in the Testing Center for a variety of reasons.  The most common reasons are make-up exams and retests, or if your course is an alternate delivery course such as videotape, online, television or hybrid courses.  Occassionally, exams may be scheduled in the Testing Center because of an unsheduled class cancellation. 

   Make Up Testing

• I missed the class to due to illness/emergency
• My professor was unable to attend class due to illness/emergency
• College was closed due to inclement weather or other emergency
• Alternative Delivery Classes (hybrid, online, TV, etc.)
• Angel Supported Classes

Make Up Testing

I missed class due to illness/emergency

• You must have your instructor's permission to take the exam in the Testing Center.  Please see your instructor to get written permission.  We cannot give you an exam without permission from your instructor.

 My instructor was unable to attend class due to illness/emergency

• Your instructor will give you specific instructions on when and how to take your exam.  Arrangements will be made by your instructor directly with the Testing Center staff, so you may or may not need a permission slip.

College was closed due to inclement weather or other emergency

• Your instructor will give you specific instructions on making up tests in the Testing Center due to inclement weather or other emergency causing Brookdale to cancel classes. 

Alternate Delivery Classes (hybrid, online, TV, etc)

• If you are taking an alternative delivery class such as an online, hybrid, television, or videotape class, your instructor may schedule your exams in the Testing Center.  You will receive specific instructions from your professor regarding deadlines and other policies and procedures.   
• These tests may be administered via paper/pencil or via the Angel Course Management System.

Did you know????

Students can test at any of the Higher Education Centers or the Branch Campus via Angel!  At the Testing Center in the main campus, you do not need an appointment, but you should check with staff at each of the other Centers/Branch Campus to find out testing times and whether an appointment is necessary.

If you are taking an exam via Angel, please be sure to know your log-in and password before presenting to take the exam!
