Building Minds, Building Futures

Annual Scholarship Campaign

The annual campaign seeks to raise money to provide scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need, solid academic performance, and a desire to succeed.  Brian Williams, NBC Nightly News Anchor and Brookdale alumna, served as the first Honorary Chair.  This campaign continues to attract wide support thanks to the interest, involvement and financial support of Trustees, individuals, alumni, businesses, private foundations, service organizations, faculty and staff.

Campaign Chair is: James Tignanelli, High Point Property and Casualty Insurance.  Other committee members are:  John Gage, F. Candy Langan-Sattenspiel, R.N., Sattenspiel Surgical Arts Center, Patrice Malleus, P.E., CMX, Katherine F. Lowry, CFP, PNC Financial Services and LeRoy J. Herbert.

The goal for the 2008-2009 campaign is $250,000.

Brookdale, the County College of Monmouth, serves more than 14,000 credit students from all backgrounds and abilities annually.  Nearly 35% of all Monmouth County high school graduates come to Brookdale each year.  As enrollment expands, the need for scholarship increases.

Make An Investment in Student Success

Students come to Brookdale to build a better life for themselves, their family and our community.  You can support our students by making a donation to the "Building Minds, Building Futures" annual campaign.  Education is the key ingredient of Youth Development and Workforce Development.  Students need skills to secure jobs.  Area employers need skilled workers.  Through our degree certificate programs Brookdale Community College is preparing 14,000 students annually for transfer to four-year colleges and universities or to enter the work place.

Memorial/Tribute Gifts

Gifts can be made to the annual campaign in memory or tribute to a loved one, friend or colleague.  The Foundation will send a thank you letter to the friend or family telling them that a gift has been made to the annual scholarship campaign.  The donor receives a thank you letter as an acknowledgement of the gift.

 Brookdale Legacy Society

The Brookdale Community College Foundation formed the Brookdale Legacy Society in recognition of the growing number of individuals and familes who have provided funds to Brookdale in their estates through their wills or trusts to advance the cause of higher education.  Included in this list are those who have notified the college of their plans to benefit Brookdale through their estates.  By designating a gift to Brookdale in this manner these friends of Brookdale have demonstrated their ongoing confidence in the college's commitment to learning and excellence and providing access and opportunity to students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
