The Barringer Award was created in 1986 in the honor of Dr. B.A. Barringer, then President of Brookdale Community College. His unwavering commitment to educational excellence and his vigorous and enthusiastic support for the Alumni Association's reorganizations led to his becoming the award's first recipient.
The award is presented annual to individual(s) who demonstrate unwavering commitment to educational excellence and Brookdale. The annual Barringer Awards Dinner is held in the spring.
The 25th Annual Barringer Awards Dinner will held on Friday April, 9 2010 at the Riverview Pavilion in Belmar.
The 2010 recipients are:
- Maris Lown, Dean of Science & Health Sciences
- Sherri West, Professor of History
- Terry M. Konn-Karangwa, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Radiologic Technology
