"Beat the Winter Blues -- Meet, Mingle and Music" at the Brookdale Performing Arts Center. A lively social networking event with a concert by the Laura Crisci Band. Laura has been called "the prodigal daughter of Asbury Park" and her band includes many talented touring musicians. A pre-concert reception with light fare and a wine & beer cash bar. Tickets can be purchased on this site in early January 2012. Life Time Members of the Alumni Association receive a discount. Check back for more details. The 27th Barringer Awards Dinner is March 23, 2012 at the Riverview Pavilion in Belmar.  The award was created in 1986 in the honor of Dr. B.A. Barringer, then President of Brookdale Community College. His unwavering commitment to educational excellence and his vigorous and enthusiastic support for the Alumni Association's reorganizations led to his becoming the award's first recipient.

Each year since, a call for nominations is announced to the Brookdale Community. People are invited to nominate individuals or organizations who have provided outstanding service to students, the institution and the community. The award is presented annual to individual(s) who demonstrate unwavering commitment to educational excellence and Brookdale.  The Alumni Board evaluates all nominations based on weighted criteria.
