Scholarships 

 The majority of scholarships made available by the Brookdale Foundation and the Brookdale Alumni Association are awarded through the Brookdale Community College Financial Aid department and are awarded to students who do not receive Federal or state grants but who have filed the FAFSA form. We encourage all students & families to file the FAFSA form in order to be considered for those scholarships. Contact the Financial Aid department for more information.

Fifty (50) $1,000 OceanFirst Scholarships for 2013 High School GraduatesInclude/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/OceanFirst Foundation Scholarship Application 2013.pdf

2 $500 Brookdale Community College Alumni Association Upper Division Scholarships are available to a December or a May graduating Brookdale student who plans to continue on to a four-year college. A faculty member must nominate the student. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Upper Division.doc

3 $500 Brookdale Community College Alumni Association Youth Opportunity Scholarships are available to an incoming Monmouth County high school graduate who plans to attend Brookdale full-time in the fall of 2012. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Youth Opportunity.doc

7 $600 T. J. Bruno Memorial Scholarships for Students with Disabilities. This Endowed Scholarship was formed by Tony and Claudia Bruno and family friends Eleanor and Roger Dolan in memory of their son who died in 1999 at the age of 34. This scholarship is available to provide tuition assistance to a Monmouth County incoming high school student who will attend Brookdale Community College in the fall 2013. Qualified applicants include those students who are classified and determined eligible for special education and related services under provision of the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA). This scholarship is renewable for a second year, based on satisfactory academic record at Brookdale Community College.  Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Bruno.doc

The AAUW scholarship is awarded through the Northern Monmouth County Branch of New Jersey, of the American Association of University Women. The scholarship ranges from $500 to $1000 and is awarded to a female, 25 years or older by April 1, 2013 who is a permanent resident of Monmouth County; a BCC student who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree following graduation from BCC. Must have completed 24 credits by May 2013 and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Latowsky.doc

 

Four (4) $500 Harry V. Weber, Jr. Endowed Memorial Scholarships are available to Brookdale Community College second year students enrolled in nursing or political science; although students enrolled in other programs of study are also eligible.Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Weber.doc

Wilbur Ray Memorial Scholarships - 4 $500 scholarships are available to currently enrolled Brookdale students who are Monmouth County residents, ethnic minority students; evidence of financial need; and career interest in law enforcement and/or related field. 1 $1,000 scholarship for incoming high school students. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Wilbur Ray.doc

 2 $1700 Theo Gade Endowed Memorial Radio Broadcasting Scholarships are available to currently enrolled Brookdale student who is majoring in: Humanities Program A. A. Degree/Broadcasting Option or Communications Media Program A. A. S. Degree/Radio Broadcasting Option, and is a second year, full-time matriculated student registered for 12 credits in the fall 2013, one of which is RDIO 295 or RDIO299.  Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Gade.doc

2 $1000 Corrine Gramas Endowed Memorial Music Scholarships are available to a currently enrolled Brookdale Community College student studying music and has earned at least 15 credit in the music option with a GPA of 2.75+. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Gramas.doc

2 $1000, 2-year Buck Smith Scholarships are available to an incoming student from either Christian Brothers Academy, Henry Hudson Regional, Keansburg High School, Keyport High School, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, Mater Dei High School, Middletown High School North and South, Monmouth County Vocational, Raritan High School, Red Bank Catholic High School and St. John Vianney High School and are registered to attend Brookdale Community College in the fall 2013. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Buck Smith.doc

1 $500 Officer Kenneth F. Tietjen Memorial Scholarship is available to graduates of Monmouth County High Schools and registered to attend Brookdale Community College as a Criminal Justice Major in the fall of 2013.Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Tietjen.doc

One (1) $1,800 Eileen Lucarelli Memorial Scholarship is available to a Brookdale Community College student in the Respiratory Therapy program;has earned a minimum of 8 credits in this program; has a GPA of 2.5+; has financial need.   (CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFORMATION)

Vinnie Gorman "Blue Bishops" Endowed Scholarship for 2013 graduates of Asbury Park High School. This scholarship (ranging from $300 to $600) criteria: resident of Asbury Park or neighboring town; GPA of B or better; member of a Varsity sports team or active in other school activities; and registered to attend Brookdale in Fall 2013. Include/Scholarship Applications 2013-2014/Gorman.doc

 PLEASE NOTE:

We encourage all students and parents to complete the FAFSA (see the Financial Aid department page on the college website for more information) in order to be considered for scholarships provided by the Foundation and the Alumni Association. These schoalrships are funded by the Brookdale Foundation and the Brookdale Alumni Association and the recipients are selected by the Financial Aid department. Students who receive these scholarships have filed a FAFSA and are do not qualify for financial aid in the form of grants. So, in order to be considered for one of these sechoalrships, you must file a FAFSA. Go the Brookdale Financial Aid department website for more information.
