2009 Recap

The 2009 team had an outstanding year. This team won the GSAC Championship, Region 19 Championship and advanced to the World Series for the 13^th time and had a 3^rd Place finish. There were some outstanding individual performances led by National Player of the Year and 1st Team All American Keith Weinkosfky who set a school record with 17 home runs and was voted Region Player of the Year, 1st Team All Conference and 1^st Team All Region 19 and was voted to the All World Series team. Kevin Major was voted 3^rd team All American 1^st Team All Conference and 1^st Team ALL Region 19. Ryan Casey was voted 1^st Team All American, 1^st Team All Conference and 1^st team All Region. Joe Talerico was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 20^th round and was voted to the  2^nd team All American.  Ivan Rodriquez and Keith Weinkosfky were voted to the 1^st Team All American Gold Glove Award

Coaches Comments. This team gave me everything they had and performed well above their athletic ability. This was one of the most talented teams that I have ever coached. They had power, speed and a desire to win.  Guys like Brian Seres, Keith Weinkosfky, Andy Vega, Ryan Casey, Jeff Frost, Cory Hawes and Ivan Rodriquez came and in to this program as young kids and left as men. I will miss these guys as they gave me every thing they had for two years.
