The Global Citizenship Project

Global Citizenship is the application of the concept of social responsibility at a global level through active participation.

A Global Citizen is one who is connected with the concepts of globalization, participates in ways to reduce inequities, and refrains from behaviors that hinder the well-being of others.
 
The "Global Citizenship Project" aims to educate and engage students and the college community in global issues to improve the world we live in and to foster a life-long commitment to global citizenship.

How can I get involved?
Faculty and staff can get involved in meaningful discussions on global issues with students in class, at student club meetings and, of course, in private or group conversations.

Students can get involved in community service and volunteerism through student clubs, aiding an existing non-profit with its mission, volunteerism, experiential learning, and a host of other means.

Where can I get information?
The Global Citizenship Council (BCC volunteers) has put together resources for faculty, staff and students.  The many resources will enable faculty and staff to engage in meaningful discussions about global issues with students and the BCC community and will aid students to seek out ways to get actively involved at a global level and become a global citizen.
