Solar Energy: Entry Level Photovoltaic Systems (NABCEP-Registered)

New Jersey ranks second (after California) in solar installations, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association. Learn
the fundamentals of solar energy and prepare for an entry level position in the photovoltaic industry. This 40-hour course covers the basic technology and the skills required for the design and installation of a photovoltaic energy system. It is held in partnership with Warshauer Electric Supply.
It is approved for 40 electrical contractor CEUs; 40 AIA architect CEUs; 40 USGBC LEED-AP general CEUs; and 40 NAHB Green CEUs.
Upon successful completion of coursework - with 100 percent attendance - offered by a registered NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam Provider, a student is eligible to sit for the PV Entry Level Exam.
From NABCEP: The NABCEP PV Entry Level Program is designed for those individuals wanting to get into the solar field; achievement of the NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam is a way for candidates to demonstrate that they have achieved a basic knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation and operation of grid-tied and stand-alone PV Systems. As the market grows for photovoltaics, students achieving this industry-sponsored Entry Level Exam may find that their employment opportunities are enhanced by starting the job with an understanding of the basic terms and operational aspects of a PV system.

NABCEP Testing: Fee $100. To take the NABCEP Entry Level Exam, 100 percent attendance required in the Solar Entry Level course.
