Did you know …???
You DON’T have to speak another language to study abroad! There are so many opportunities for students interested in study abroad which do not require proficiency in another language. Students can chose from programs offering a variety of academic disciplines in English, allowing them to complete general education or major requirements abroad.
You DON’T have to be rich to study abroad. There are various forms of financial aid available to students wishing to study abroad including scholarships, grants and loans. Federal financial aid can be applied to study abroad programs. Students may also be able to access additional financial aid for such programs.
You DON’T have to lose out on academic credit. The International Education Center works with students, staff, and faculty at Brookdale and host institutions to assist students in selecting their courses and transferring credit for classes taken abroad.
You DON’T have to dedicate an entire semester to study abroad. Summer CCIS Programs and Brookdale Short-Term, Faculty-Led Programs are designed for students interested in studying for shorter periods of time during the summer term. Destinations like China, Japan, Italy, Scotland, Paris, and Peru are a great way see the world while earning credit during a summer or winterim break!
You DON’T have to go far from home. Destinations in surrounding countries like Mexico or Canada are close to home but still packed with rich, culture, history and language learning opportunities. Regardless of where you go you’ll find great friends, new “family” and touches of home—even in the most unlikely of places!
