In this class, you are all that stands between world peace and a group of international hackers that are launching a series of cyber attacks on multinational corporations and governments. Working in teams you will have to solve simulated scenarios each day by investigating digital clues and challenges. The clock is ticking! Campers will have the opportunity to play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff or juror in several “mock trials.” Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Put all your skills together when you participate in a final mock trial based on real events. Model United Nations (A Black Rocket Program) Become one of the 400,000 students around the world who participate in Model United Nations every year! Participants in this program will assume the role of an ambassador to the United Nations and represent their countries to solve current, real world issues. Throughout the week, students will research a world problem, develop solutions, and negotiate consensus with their peers. This program prepares teenagers in core skills such as research, writing, public speaking, problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, compromise and cooperation. Model UN alumni have gone on to become Supreme Court justices, world leaders, lawyers, business professionals, and famous Hollywood actors. Grades: 6-9; $289, XCHLC 143 W 7/16 - 7/20, 9 am-2 pm
