NATEF and ASE
The Mission of NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) lies in an effort to evaluate technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry, and recommend qualifying programs for certification by ASE, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, which, in turn, takes part in training tomorrow's automotive service technicians to be leaders in their field.

ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) strives to improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive service technicians. Brookdale strongly encourages all students to take their ASE exams as they go through the program.

Congratulations to Sara Costelloe!
Auto Tech student Sara Costelloe from the GMASEP program, applied for, and was accepted as a winner of a paid scholarship/internship in Germany over the summer of 2009. The selection process was highly competitive as only 5 students nationwide received this opportunity.
The program was funded by the state of Baden-Wurttemberg, and provided for Sara's airfare, lodging, intensive German language intruction, a monthly stipend and a 2 month internship in the area of her career. Sara has since returned from her journey enriched by the experience.
