Intercollegiate Athletics

Student participation in intercollegiate athletics promotes good citizenship, teamwork, health, fitness, camaraderie, and competition that are compatible with academic pursuits. Brookdale's intercollegiate sports include women's softball, men's baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, coed golf and coed cheerleading.

The Brookdale Athletic Department has been one of the best in the US over the last five years. We have won the Athletic Director's Cup in our class for New Jersey's best overall athletic department three of the last six years. During the past three years we have won 9 Region Championships, 11 Conference Championships, 3 District Championships, 11 National Tournament appearances, and a National Championship in Women's Softball.

The same athletes who have competed at such a high level on the athletic fields have excelled in the classroom, receiving more National Academic Awards than any other two-year institution in NJ. For the 2006/07 academic year the Jersey Blues have received 51 Academic All-Region awards, 5 Academic All-Americans and two NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Eligibility for the above named sports is determined by the National Junior College Athletic Association rules, which can be found at http://www.NJCAA.org or by contacting Brookdale Athletic Director Frank Lawrence.
