The Bankier Library is Brookdale's scholarly information center. Our vision is to be:
           State-of-the-art
Sensitive to need, responsive to demand
Expert in the organization and utilization of learning resources

Our comprehensive program of research and study services includes:
Quality instruction in the research process
Optimal access to published, recorded or networked information
A collection of library materials in varied formats
Facilities and equipment maintained for effective scholarly use

Research tools and reference materials and the open computer lab are located in the Information Commons on the first floor.  The Library provides access to a wide range of electronic resources including full-text and full-image articles from journals, magazines and newspapers.

The Info Commons Help Desk is staffed by reference librarians, learning assistants and technical support personnel.  Library assistants and associates will help you find books, magazines, videos and recordings in the collections on the second floor.

Your College ID is Your Library Card

Faculty, staff and currently enrolled students are eligible to borrow materials, request interlibrary loans and use the electronic resources in the Library or from home. Get your Brookdale ID in the Warner Student Life Center.  The 14-digit barcode printed on the back of the ID card is your library barcode. With this ID card and your 14- digit barcode, you can borrow materials, access the library databases from off campus, renew books online and reserve group study rooms.

Access Online Resources from Your Home, Office, etc.

Launch any browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Exporer, Safari), connect to any database from the Online Databases web page.
An authentication web page appears prompting you to enter your last name and your 14-digit library barcode.
Your library account must be active and clear of obligations in order to access library online resources.

Priority for Computer Use in the Library

Computers in the Information Commons are primarily for students and staff doing work related to Brookdale and Communiversity courses. If you are using a computer for other than collegiate work, you may be asked to relinquish computer usage.
