- You must bring with you two forms of government-issued photo ID. Your photo ID's must include name, address (including NJ residency), age, and signature. Please go to http://www.nj.gov/education/students/ged/ged3.htm for complete requirements. Click here for instructions on how to get a Monmouth County photo ID card.
- We will supply you with everything you need - pens, scratch paper, calculators for the math, etc.
- All personal items, including turned-off cell phones and baseball-type caps, must be locked up in our lockers. We will supply you with a lock and key. Food, drink, chewing gum is NOT allowed in the room, but can be put in lockers and accessed during breaks.
- The room we test in is usually cold. Dress in layers.
- When your test is completed, you can use your same access code to view your results at www.ged123.org. Official results and a state-issued diploma will be mailed to you by the State of New Jersey.

Grading and Retesting
The GED test consists of five separate sections:
- Math - Part I is with a calculator, Part II is without calculator)
- Writing - Part I is multiple choice test, Part II is an essay on an assigned topic.
- Social Studies
- Science
- Reading
The passing score for the entire battery of five tests is 2250. You must receive a minimum passing score of 410 or an average of 450 in each area in order to earn your diploma. If you pass four sections and do not pass just one, you only have to retest in that one area UNLESS you do not average 450 points on your other four tests. In that case you may want to choose one or two other tests to take over again to increase your overall score.
