As a student, you will use them in most of the health care facilities to retrieve information and chart medications on your patients. In addition, every course in the nursing program is ANGEL enhanced and the final exams for the nursing courses are administered on the computer. There are mandatory computer assignments in each course. Most importantly, the NCLEX (licensing) exam is computer-based. It is important to note that there are computer expectations in at least three areas in the Brookdale nursing program:1.Hospital-based systems. These can be accessed only on computers in the hospital. You will attend an orientation to this system at the facility where you are assigned to clinical. Look for this information about computer training in the mail prior to the start of the semester. 2.ANGEL. You can access the Brookdale on-line course management tool from any computer with Internet access. Note: You must be registered in the course to be able to access this. You can access an ANGEL tutorial before your course begins by clicking on ANGEL TUTORIALS. Strategies for Success:If you do not possess basic computer skillstake COMP 129 or a course that teaches you basic computer skills. It is important to know how to use Web browsers and do a literature search on the Internet. Access ANGEL TUTORIALS to learn more about the system. Plan time in the beginning of the semester for a hospital computer system orientation.Create a central place for your log-on instructions and codes for each of the systems so that you can retrieve them easily.
