Prepare for an entry-level position in the healthcare field!

Brookdale’s healthcare career training programs require no prior experience. However, English language proficiency and a high school diploma are required. Additional prerequisites are listed in the Healthcare Training brochure for each program.

Professional healthcare workers may wish to take these courses to upgrade their skills, prepare for advancement or change career direction.

NEW! Electronic Health Records Program For Medical Office Staff

If you already work in a healthcare setting and have an interest in Electronic Health Records, this 48-hour course will provide you with basic information that will increase your understanding and knowledge in Electronic Health Records as required by the new regulations. You will be introduced to implementing, managing, and maintaining electronic health record systems.

Topics include: History of health information systems, government’s role in implementing systems, current regulations, types of systems, and an overview of certified vendors. Upon completion students will have an understanding of reimbursement incentives, meaningful use, health information exchanges, continuing care documents, scheduling, e-prescribing, and back-up systems in a paperless environment. 48 hours.

  • Basic computer skills
  • English language proficiency
  • Currently working in a healthcare setting.
