Prepare for an entry-level position in the healthcare field. Brookdale’s healthcare career training programs require no prior experience. However, English language proficiency and a high school diploma are required. Additional prerequisites are listed in the Healthcare Training brochure for each program.

Dental Assistant & Dental Radiology

Become a member of the dental team with a combination of these entry level professional programs. Includes extensive clinical experience and is NJ State approved. Jobs in this field are in high demand.

EKG Technician Certificate Program

This certificate program is an important adjunct skill for healthcare workers including nursing assistants, LPNs, and phlebotomists. EKGs are performed on patients in many settings such as physician offices, nursing homes, hospitals and in home care. Learn anatomy & pathophysiology of the heart, EKG machine set up and function, and basic EKG reading of strips. Prepares you for certification through the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT).

Hemodialysis Technician

Intensive program that prepares you to work in dialysis centers. Areas of study include kidney disease, hemodialysis devices and procedures, vascular access with sterile technique and complications. After six months of employment as a Hemodialysis Technician, you will be eligible to sit for national certification.

Homemaker/Home Health Aide Certified (CHHA)

This certification program is a very high in-demand occupation with flexible work hours. Learn hands-on care of patients and obtain a job in a home health agency or assisted living facility.  NJ State Board of Nursing approved program.

Nurse Aide in Long Term Care Certified (CNA)

Jobs in this field are in high demand! This training is for individuals wanting to work as aides in nursing homes and hospitals.  NJ Department of Health and Human Services approved program.

Medical Assistant

One of the fastest growing career opportunities available. Learn front office procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, medication administration and minor procedures in order to work in a medical office setting.

Medical Coding & Billing Specialist

Earn a medical coding and billing specialist certificate by completing the eight required courses. Jobs are available in this specialty in a variety of settings including medical practices, billing services, hospital billing departments and insurance companies. 

Patient Care Technician

Become a multi-skilled technician in the areas of direct patient care, venipuncture and EKG. Jobs are available with flexible hours and in many clinical settings, such as hospitals and sub-acute facilities. Prepares you to sit for national certification.

Personal Trainer National Certification

Start a new career with this combined program of lecture and working one-on-one with clients to become a certified personal trainer. This program is co-sponsored with World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S).

Pharmacy Technician

Learn to prepare and deliver medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Currently there are many job opportunities with flexible hours in retail pharmacies and in hospitals. Prepares you to sit for national certification.

Phlebotomy Technician

Become skilled at collecting and processing blood samples. Course includes extensive clinical and laboratory practice on artificial arms. Prepares technician to become nationally certified and work as a phlebotomist in a laboratory or hospital setting.

NEW! Physical Therapy Aide

Under the direction of a Physical Therapist/Assistant, you will perform front desk procedures, assist patients to or from procedure areas and prepare treatment areas for patients.

NEW!  Surgical Technologist

Under the supervision of surgical nurses, the technologist will learn instrument and equipment sterilization, surgical supplies management, wound exposure and closure, and surgical scrubbing.  All components of pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care will be covered through lecture, practice in a mock surgical lab and clinical experience.  95% attendance is required in this 400-hour program.

Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program
