Brookdale Community College welcomed Nicolette Caprio, a graduate of the College, to the Brookdale Police Department.

Caprio completed her associates degree in Criminal Justice from Brookdale in 2014. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in National Security from New Jersey City University (NJCU) in 2016.

“I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement because I grew up with both of my parents as officers,” Caprio said. Her father is an officer for the Middletown Township Police Department and her mother is retired from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department. “I loved seeing what they did and how they made a difference in the community,” Caprio said of her parents.

Caprio began her career in the Middletown Township Police Department as a class one officer in 2017. She then returned to the Police Academy to become a class two officer in 2018 and continued to work for the township. Caprio started at the Brookdale Police Department in August.

“At Brookdale, I’m looking forward to interacting with students and faculty and providing a safe and secure environment at the campus,” Caprio said.

“Brookdale is all about community, and Nicolette’s connection to the Brookdale population makes her an exciting addition to our team,” said Robert Kimler, chief of police at Brookdale.
