Wilbur Ray Annual Scholar Awards Celebration

A drawing of Wilbur Ray.The Wilbur Ray Annual Awards Celebration is held each spring to honor and celebrate students who have been awarded scholarships during the academic year. This event not only acknowledges their achievements but also highlights the vital role of civic engagement and leadership within the Brookdale and Greater Monmouth County communities.

The Scholarship Program is named in honor of the late Sgt. Wilbur Ray, a long-time and devoted member of the Brookdale Community College police force and an active volunteer in the Long Branch community.  His example of public service serves as the inspiration for the program, celebrating significant contributions by Monmouth County residents and organizations.

Each year an exceptional Brookdale alumnus is honored with the prestigious Dr. Webster Trammell Community Leadership Award, recognizing their exemplary leadership, dedication, and service to the community.
