Science Mondays is a monthly program hosted by the Brookdale Environmental Club and the Jersey Shore Sierra Club. The purpose is to inform club members, students and the public about environmental issues.
Our calendar of guest lectures for the Spring 2018 Term:
Mon., January 22 – “Challenges to Safeguarding New Jersey’s Environment”
Speaker: Jeff Tittel. Mr. Tittel has served as Director of the New Jersey Sierra Club for 19 years. He is currently a member of Governor-elect Phil Murphy’s Transition Team for Environment and Energy. In his lecture at Brookdale, he will discuss challenges to safeguarding New Jersey’s environment.
Mon., February 26 – “The Truth About Climate Research”
Speakers: Steve and Pat Miller, Al Gore Trainees. Steve and Pat Miller attended Al Gore’s 3-day “Climate Reality” training program in Denver last year. They will discuss the problems that climate change is creating and what the future holds.
Mon., March 26 – “Supporting Environmental Science”
Claire Antonucci, Executive Director and Director of Education at the NJ Sea Grant Consortium, Sandy Hook. Ms. Antonucci will discuss how her organization supports local teachers by providing facts, figures, and lesson plans on a number of environmental topics.
Free and open to all – lectures begin at 6:30 PM in the Twin Lights Rooms of the Warner Student Life Center.
