More than 300 people attended the Brookdale Scholarship Ball on Friday, June 9, honoring The Anabel Foundation, local philanthropists and founders of the Two River Theater Bob and Joan Rechnitz, and Zodiac Aersospace.
Founders’ Awards were presented to the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders and to the Northern Monmouth Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Both organizations were instrumental in the founding of Brookdale, and were recognized as the College celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2017.
The event was held at Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale.
The Brookdale Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that raises funds to provide scholarships to Brookdale students and to fund programs that support student access and opportunity.
“The Scholarship Ball is vitally important to the Brookdale Foundation’s mission of engaging local individuals, businesses and organizations in raising funds for scholarships and programs so that Brookdale students can achieve their dream of earning a college degree and building better futures for themselves, their families and our community,” said Tim Zeiss, Executive Director, Foundation & Alumni Affairs. “We are honored to recognize our Honorees for their commitment to our students, the college and our community.”
The Foundation’s “Building Minds, Building Futures” scholarship fund provided nearly $430,000 in scholarships and grants to more than 560 Brookdale students this past academic year. Over the last seventeen years, the Brookdale Foundation has provided over $5 million in scholarships and grants to more than 7,000 students.
