Richard Sorrell Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Sorrell

Richard Sorrell was a History Professor at Brookdale Community College for 47 years. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. and M.A. in History; and, a Ph.D. from SUNY Buffalo. He passed away on November 24, 2018.

He was a warm and gentle scholar who cared about his family, friends, colleagues and students. His commitment to Brookdale and its students went beyond the classroom. He served on the Brookdale Community College Foundation Board of Trustees and was a longstanding donor and supporter.
Family, friends, and colleagues of Richard are invited to honor the memory of our colleague and friend by funding a memorial scholarship through the Brookdale Community College Foundation.

We hope you will join us in supporting this scholarship in Richard’s memory.
