February 17 at 11:45am Informational Interview 101: The “What” & “Why” Join this presentation to learn more about what informational interviews are and why you should be conducting them. Informational interviewing is an essential part of your career development process. If you are not sure what an informational interview is, or how to secure one, this presentation is for you! February 22 at 12:00pm Careers in Data Science Data science is the field of study that combines domain expertise, programming skills, and knowledge of mathematics and statistics to extract meaningful insights from data. Our first speaker is Yvette Wolfe who will give a broad overview of the field of data science, the types of jobs available, the types of training needed, and the types of problems that use data science.  Yvette is a Data Scientist and the current Data Science Curriculum Manager for Booz Allen. Booz Allen is a leading professional services company, providing a broad range of services and solutions in management, technology, consulting, and engineering. They are a Fortune 500 firm with over 27,000 employees. In her current position she creates and administers training for consultants to meet the current challenges in industry. Yvette started her career as a Math Professor at Brookdale Community College. She will lead an accessible talk on opportunities in data science and what skills are needed to answer the growing needs of industry. This event is open to all RSVP HERE

February 23 at 11:00am LinkedIn Profile Review Workshop Join this workshop to learn more about how to create a LinkedIn profile or have your current profile reviewed. This will be an interactive workshop and participants are encouraged to share their challenges and successes when using the LinkedIn platform. RSVP HERE

February 28 at 3:00pm Auto Technology Resume/Interview Workshop For a successful job search, your resume and interview skills must perform well! This resume/interview workshop will help put all the proper parts in working order. Whether you are starting a resume from scratch or need a refresher this workshop will identify the NACE competencies employers seek to make your resume and interview skills stand out. Mock interviews can be scheduled on an individual basis.

March 8 at 12:00 noon Getting Savvy – Online Job Scams What are the RED FLAGS of online job searching? Con artists know how to grab your attention. Career, Leadership & Transfer Pathways leads a virtual event on how to detect signs of online employment scamming. RSVP HERE

March 22 at 12:00pm Careers in Data Science: Machine Learning Engineer Lauren Bilsky is a machine learning engineer at Duolingo. She works on the Duolingo English Test in automated item generation and scoring. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in linguistics and applied math-economics. She began her career as a full stack software engineer at Tripadvisor before transitioning to machine learning and joining Duolingo in 2020. This talk will describe the types of projects Lauren works on and the skill set needed to work in the engineering side of data science. The talk will be accessible to all audiences and is meant to give a better understanding of the field of data science and the types of jobs in this field. RSVP HERE

Join us for a virtual presentation as Dawn Malinowski, President of SocialTrend Marketing Solutions, discusses social trends and marketing to brand you as a part of your career development plan. Q&A session to follow presentation. Dawn Malinowski owns SocialTrend Marketing Solutions which creates and oversees the implementation of hundreds of marketing campaigns for small businesses throughout the tri-state area. Using multiple social media platforms, Google Ads management, search engine optimization, graphic design, and website development, Dawn and her staff have successfully provided businesses with the guidance to improve their online media presence by developing campaigns that connect the vision of the individual business owner to the needs of potential customers.
