Intro To Sewing And Tailoring

Learn professional hand sewing techniques. Lessons include 11 different stitches all necessary for hand sewing; how to attach buttons, hooks & eyes, snaps and zippers. Learn how to hem pants, skirts, dresses and how to shorten sleeves on a tailored jacket. Gallery Assistant Program: Exhibition And Docent Training

Ready to take an active role in a museum/gallery experience? Don’t miss this unique opportunity for exhibition training. Join the professional staff of Brookdale’s Center for Visual Arts Gallery and learn exhibition installation techniques as you participate in upcoming installations of new shows: “Brookdale Community College Selects: Works by the Exhibiting Members of The Guild of Creative Art,” and “Brookdale Community College Selects: Works by Artist-Members of The Art Alliance of Monmouth County.” These competitive exhibits will feature Paintings, Sculpture, Photography, and Ceramics created by dozens of outstanding area artists. With educational materials provided, learn to be a Gallery Docent. Successful completion of this training will enable you to lead tours though these fascinating, educational exhibitions. Enrollment is limited. Training culminates in Exhibition Opening Receptions Friday evenings, Jan 19th and Mar 9th.
