Fitness Classes


Smart fitness begins at Brookdale’s Fitness Center. Our campus setting and our teaching expertise set us apart from typical gyms. Our classes focus on learning – in its many and varied forms. We welcome a community of all ages and fitness stages. Whether fitness is a brand new personal pursuit or a long time dedication, join us to enjoy a unique fitness experience in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

NEW! Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, The Gentle Art

Practical sport and form of self-defense that promotes mental and physical wellness. Jiu-Jitsu improves flexibility, strength, cardio and mental focus through fun, dynamic training.

Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed to strengthen and lengthen the muscles without creating bulk. Pilates works to develop core strength as well as improve posture and body alignment.

Rise And Shine Yoga

A great way to begin your day, this gentle class focuses on connecting yoga postures with the flow of the breath in order to increase awareness, coordination, physical alignment, flexibility, and strength; leading all of us to an overall sense of well being.

Boot Camp

It’s nonstop action as you battle the clock and improve mobility, stability, balance, strength, power, cardio, and core development. This time-efficient workout combines a variety of exercises to get your heart pumping and muscles strengthened.

Lunchtime Express

From walking to weights, join your coworkers for 30 minutes of varied exercises designed to make the most of your time and still allow time to eat lunch! No shower needed, but you are guaranteed to return to the office feeling energized.

Ballroom For Mind & Body

Ballroom dancing is more than learning step patterns. It’s a life skill. Learn how to dance with a partner, and learn more about yourself in the process. Social dancing is fun and great exercise. Learn to Swing, Tango, Rumba, Foxtrot, Salsa plus more. Come with or without a partner. Fee is per person.

A Barre Workout

The Barre Workout is a total body, non-impact workout that combines ballet moves with core conditioning, Pilates and yoga. Following a warm up, be guided through an intense isometric leg workout at a ballet bar and a mat workout to incorporate upper body exercises and abs.

Strength Training

Combination of traditional body sculpting methods using free weights, resistance bands, balls and your own body weight. Shapes and tones your muscles and provides a total body workout.

Zumba is a fun and easy to follow Latin rhythm based fitness class. This upbeat class includes a warm up and cool down along with modifications for all levels of fitness.

Tai Chi Easy

Nine basic movements with an Introduction to Primordial Qigong. 

Control and enhance your own capacity for healing, vitality, stress mastery, longevity, creativity and inner peace. Per basic theory in Chinese Medicine, your vital energy exists in 3 states – harmony, deficiency, and stagnation. By simply observing the signs of imbalance, you can apply an “ounce of prevention” to restore health. The Qigong classics say, “Disorder is easiest to overcome before it starts; prevent problems before they arise.” Clear the stagnation, restore the deficiency, and move the energy within you and you will get better faster. You can increase self-awareness and confidence, build internal energy and develop a healthy mind, body and spirit. Be amazed at how little is required and how much can be gained.
