For the 2018-19 academic year, Brookdale’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter will be combating the opioid epidemic and the stigma surrounding it. This issue is close to our heart and one which plagues our students, community, as well as the rest of the world. We hope that this page will serve as an adequate resource for those seeking out help either for themselves, for a family member or friend. Each year, Phi Theta Kappa chapters worldwide delve into extensive research in order to complete the “Honors in Action” project. This assignment was developed by Phi Theta Kappa to support its mission to develop opportunities for college students to grow as scholars and leaders. The program allows students to identify issues confronting humanity, consider ideas from varied perspectives, apply what they learn to address a complex real-world issue, develop collaborative partnerships, exercise leadership, and, finally, reflect and analyze project outcomes.
