Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.

Our Mission

The mission of the Educational Opportunity Fund program at Brookdale Community College is to recruit, enroll, and promote the college readiness and success of low-income first generation students, representative of the demographic diversity of Monmouth County, and determined to be under-prepared for college study. The program, in partnership with the institution, is to provide a comprehensive array of student support services designed to foster student learning and development and minimize the financial burden of college attendance.

Student services include a summer bridge program, educational assessments, developmental instruction, the monitoring of student academic progress, academic advisement, life skills counseling, career development, learning assistance, financial literacy, student leadership development, and financial support.

As a result of participation in these services, program students are to be prepared for transfer to four year colleges, workforce entry, and making contributions to their communities in demonstrating responsible citizenship.
